چکیده
Machining of CFRP composites is usually described as a challenging process from tool life and surface quality perspectives. To achieve flawless machined at reasonable cutting life/cost, an optimum combination material geometry the key. The angles are importance these dictate mechanism well edge robustness introduction vibration to machining opens up new horizons improvement stirs further research questions. This article investigates effect tools with different possessing rake when used in ultrasonic-assisted trimming operation dealing multidirectional laminates. A full-factorial experimental design was adopted analyze parameters typically speed, feed rate, angle, amplitude, their interactions. performance indicators were captured which forces, wear, chip temperature, roughness. results showed that UAM mode contributed increase temperature compared conventional mode. On other hand, improved surface. Additionally, ultrasonic enhanced removal using negative angle.

Ultrasonic NDE Techniques for Impact Damage Inspection on CFRP Laminates
This study investigates the different types of ultrasonic inspection, when applied to assess the impact damage in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic CFRP laminates. The study surveys the two most used ultrasonic testing approaches first; namely the pulse-echo and the through-transmission modes. Then, the manuscript discusses and analyzes the enhanced ultrasonic testing methods that use the polar s...
متن کاملEffect of chisel edge in ultrasonic assisted drilling of carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP)
Ultrasonic assisted drilling (UAD) has been reported effective for thrust force reduction during drilling of CFRP resulting in lower exit delamination. However, this process is not fully understood in relation to machining theory. This work focused on understanding the separate effects of chisel and cutting edges during UAD in comparison with conventional drilling (CD). Experiments were perform...

متن کاملImpact Damage Detection of Toughened CFRP Laminates with Time Domain
Laminated Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composites are very effective in weight saving in aeronautical structural components. For these laminated CFRP structures, it is, however, difficult to detect damage such as delamination, matrix cracks, and local fiber breakages caused by low velocity impact loading In the previous study in 2009, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) method was applied...
